As a Patient Service Representative, Float, you will play a crucial role in managing the patient check-in and check-out processes, ensuring that patients receive the best possible service from the moment they arrive until they leave. This position requires a proactive approach to customer service, where you will listen to patients, take ownership of their needs, and work collaboratively with leadership to resolve any concerns that may arise. In this role, you will be responsible for verifying patient identification, updating demographic and insurance information, and ensuring that all necessary forms are completed accurately. You will also handle co-pays and payments, screen for eligibility and financial assistance, and follow established policies for cash handling. Your attention to detail will be essential as you enter patient information into the Electronic Health Record system in a timely manner, confirming and processing referrals and authorizations for specialty services as needed. Additionally, you will be tasked with scheduling appointments, making reminder calls, and responding to billing inquiries. Your ability to multi-task and adapt to a fast-paced environment will be critical, as you will perform various clerical duties such as scanning documents, tracking data, and sorting correspondence. This position may also require you to travel within San Diego County to locations that may not be easily accessible by public transportation, so having reliable transportation is essential.
