Requirements

  • Three years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
  • Experience with keyboard data entry.
  • Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime as needed.
  • Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a travel position within the healthcare field.
  • Certification in phlebotomy or related medical field.

Responsibilities

  • Collect specimens according to established procedures, including drug screens and biometric screenings.
  • Administer oral solutions as per training guidelines.
  • Research and verify test client information using lab technology systems.
  • Accurately enter data and billing information, and collect payments when necessary.
  • Process specimens by labeling, centrifuging, aliquoting, freezing, and preparing for transport as required.
  • Perform non-patient facing duties such as inventory management, sanitizing, and answering phones.
  • Comply with departmental policies and procedures.
  • Assist with compiling and submitting statistics and data as required.
  • Maintain phlebotomy logs in a timely manner.
  • Complete required training courses in a timely manner.
