About the position

The Patriot Operations Technical Instructor/Writer is responsible for researching subject-specific data, including engineering data, design specifications, Software Investigation Reports and Missile Command Continuation Group reports. Performs relevant actions to prepare the data for input to lesson plans and writes the lesson plans for later instruction. During the development phase, the writer works with Raytheon engineers and customer representatives to apply appropriate instructional design principles. As an instructor, the individual is responsible for the conduct of the course, including examinations. The Operations Technical Instructor/Writer will provide Operational Patriot instruction to U.S. and Foreign customers on the Post Deployment Build Software. During course preparation, he/she will interface with engineers and other technical personnel to perform critical training task analysis, and validation of documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Researching subject-specific data, including engineering data, design specifications, Software Investigation Reports and Missile Command Continuation Group reports.
  • Performs relevant actions to prepare the data for input to lesson plans and writes the lesson plans for later instruction.
  • Provide Operational Patriot instruction to U.S. and Foreign customers on the Post Deployment Build Software.
  • Will travel 50% - 75% each year.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a Bachelor's Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and five (5) years of prior relevant experience OR an Advanced degree and 3 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Minimum of 4 years of operational experience on Air Defense Fire Control systems and controlling shelters or elements.
  • Documented completion of one of the following US Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) training courses: Army Patriot Enhanced Operator/Maintainer (14E/14A/140E/140K).
  • Experience with Windows Operating System and Microsoft Application is required.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience as an instructor of the Patriot System.
  • Experience writing and developing training lesson plans.
  • Knowledgeable with ICC and Fire Unit Operations.
  • Patriot Master Gunner or Top Gun graduate.
  • Knowledgeable on organizational maintenance and remove and replace techniques.
  • Working knowledge of the Operations of the RT3 Lab, and SGG Scripting Techniques.
