About the position

The Total Rewards Lead at BETA Technologies is responsible for overseeing payroll, benefits, leaves, and compensation practices for employees across the United States and Canada. This role requires a self-motivated and flexible individual with extensive knowledge in human resources, particularly in payroll and benefits management. The successful candidate will contribute to the company's mission of revolutionizing electric aviation by developing and administering HR plans, ensuring compliance, and supporting the growth of the team.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and administer various human resources plans and procedures for all company team members.
  • Participate in developing department goals, objectives, and systems.
  • Develop and implement business processes in new areas.
  • Maintain and oversee benefit renewal and compliance for US, Canada, and International, including workers' compensation and COBRA.
  • Maintain and oversee HRIS systems, payroll, and benefits administration for US, Canada, and International.
  • Ensure accurate and timely payroll processing including base pay, hours worked, payroll taxes, and benefit deductions.
  • Support month, quarter, and year-end processes.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance and reporting for payroll, benefits, leaves, and workers compensation for multi-state, Canada, and International.
  • Perform benefit administration including claims resolution, invoice approval, and annual re-evaluation of policies.
  • Prepare and audit payroll processes for accuracy.
  • Run and process payroll with support and collaboration.
  • Administer compensation and benefits.
  • Support affirmative action program, EEO-1, and maintain records to conform to EEO regulations.
  • Establish and maintain department records and reports; recommend new approaches to improve efficiency.
  • Work with a creative team on human resource practices and processes.
  • Build strong relationships with internal and external teams through effective communication.
  • Proactively take initiative and make confident decisions.
  • Manage risk and adapt project strategies as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in HR/Business Management/Finance or related field preferred.
  • A minimum of 10 years related HR experience, with at least 7 years focused on payroll, multi-state taxes, and benefits management.
  • Thorough knowledge of HR principles and federal/state/local regulations and laws.
  • Highly analytical, accurate, and detail-oriented.
  • Excellent multitasking and prioritization skills in a fast-growth environment.
  • Proficiency in Google Suite, MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll and benefits across the US, Canada, and International preferred.
  • Experience in Payroll and HRIS systems such as Paylocity or similar.

  • Experience in international payroll and benefits management.
