About the position

Emory University's Department of Pediatrics and Children's Healthcare of Atlanta are seeking an outstanding Pediatric Pulmonary physician with expertise in Quality Improvement to join the Division of Pulmonary, Asthma, Cystic Fibrosis, and Sleep as a clinician educator. The focus for this position will be teaching, clinical service, and quality improvement. Candidates will have the opportunity to join an expanding and dynamic faculty located in a new pediatric clinic building. In addition, the Division includes research faculty with a variety of expertise but with a focus on CF, asthma, and other airway diseases and the candidate will have ample opportunity to interact with these faculty. The Division runs a busy and diverse clinical service with outstanding faculty and a wide spectrum of clinical activities. Specific to this position, the Division has expertise in pulmonary hypertension, aerodigestive disorders, sleep medicine, pulmonary sickle cell disease, technology dependent children, severe asthma, and cystic fibrosis. These programs benefit from collaborations with the Rollins School of Public Health, the Georgia Institute of Technology, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The Division has accredited fellowship programs in pediatric pulmonary, allergy/immunology, and sleep. Emory's Department of Pediatrics has a nationally recognized pediatric residency training program. Candidates with an interest in teaching, quality improvement, and long term clinical care of the complex pediatric pulmonary patient are encouraged to apply. Applicants must be board eligible or certified in Pediatrics and Pediatric Pulmonology.

Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical care to pediatric patients with pulmonary conditions.
  • Engage in teaching and mentoring medical students and residents.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives within the division.
  • Collaborate with research faculty on projects related to pulmonary health.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of clinical protocols and guidelines.

Requirements

  • Board eligible or certified in Pediatrics and Pediatric Pulmonology.
  • Experience in clinical service and quality improvement in pediatric pulmonary care.
  • Strong interest in teaching and mentoring future healthcare professionals.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with pulmonary hypertension and aerodigestive disorders.
  • Familiarity with sleep medicine and technology dependent children.
