About The Position

The Shift Leader at Pei Wei plays a vital role in the restaurant's success by assisting management and guiding team members. This position requires a comprehensive understanding of both front-of-house and back-of-house operations, ensuring excellent guest service and efficient kitchen execution. Shift Leaders are expected to lead in the absence of management, train staff, and manage various operational tasks.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • 6 months of shift lead experience for external candidates.
  • 4 months of Pei Wei experience for internal candidates.
  • Certified food handler with knowledge of safety and health procedures.

  • Experience in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Assist management in training and guiding team members.
  • Perform duties in both front-of-house and kitchen operations.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and management.
  • Act as a role model for team behaviors and guest interactions.
  • Lead the team during shifts through coaching and delegation.
  • Execute shift responsibilities including cash handling and inventory management.
  • Support onboarding and training processes for new team members.
  • Handle guest relations and improve the guest experience.
  • Attend store manager meetings and report on shift activities.
