About the position

The Human Resource (HR) Specialist at Nelson Elder Care Law plays a crucial role in managing HR procedures and supporting employee development within the organization. This position is essential for ensuring the smooth operation of the People and Culture Department, focusing on recruitment, onboarding, and employee relations while fostering a supportive work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and evaluate HR department policies, procedures, and structures.
  • Manage health, life, and short-term disability insurance enrollment.
  • Process employee claims for life and short-term disability.
  • Design and implement effective onboarding, training, and development plans.
  • Process quarterly and annual employee performance reviews and maintain records.
  • Maintain and update employee records with new hire information or changes in employment status.
  • Identify the company's hiring needs and manage the firm's full cycle recruitment process to ensure we are staffed with the right people in the right seats.
  • Track department budgets and manage resources effectively.
  • Respond to employees' queries and resolve issues in a timely and professional manner.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or a relevant field.
  • A minimum of 3 years of proven experience in a similar role, with specific experience in recruiting, hiring, and onboarding.
  • Strong knowledge of labor legislation and benefits administration.
  • Excellent understanding of the full-cycle recruitment process.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
  • Solid problem-solving abilities and leadership skills for effective management collaboration.
