About the position

The Amberleigh, a premier retirement community in Williamsville, NY, is seeking a Human Resources professional to join their team. This role focuses on managing employee relations, recruitment, training, and compliance with labor regulations, ensuring a positive workplace environment and adherence to state and federal requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Review and process requests for new personnel, ensuring all employee files comply with regulatory standards.
  • Assist in the recruitment, selection, and training of new employees.
  • Coordinate general orientation for new personnel with department managers to ensure a positive employee experience.
  • Oversee employee performance evaluations, working with department heads to ensure timely evaluations.
  • Initiate and participate in employee retention programs to maintain a positive workplace environment.
  • Assist Executive Director and/or department managers with team member grievances and/or investigations and counseling as needed.
  • Coordinate with management team annual attendance records and oversee leaves of absence as necessary.
  • Maintain mandatory postings and ensure compliance with labor regulations.
  • Ensure Relias training compliance and maintain training records for all staff to meet state regulations.
  • Coordinate the approval of timesheets and manage communication with the centralized payroll team.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field
  • Minimum of four years of experience in Human Resources, preference for prior employee relations work experience
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organization skills
  • Knowledge of state and federal requirements and regulations
  • Very good working knowledge of FMLA and ADA, as well as familiarity with EEOC, CRA, HIPAA, and FLSA
  • Current SPHR/PHR certification preferred
