About The Position

The Performance Test Engineer at S&P Global Market Intelligence Inc. is responsible for creating and executing performance test strategies for both internal and external on-prem and cloud products. The role focuses on ensuring optimal system performance, reliability, capacity, and scalability by understanding system architecture and collecting non-functional requirements. The engineer will perform testing on Microservices and REST APIs, utilizing various tools to monitor and analyze performance metrics.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or related IT field.
• Five (5) years of experience as a Test Engineer or related occupation.
• Experience with the end-to-end Performance Test Life Cycle.
• Utilization of industry standard tools like Load Runner Cloud, JMeter, VSTS, and Neoload.
• Familiarity with cloud technologies including AWS, Azure, and GCP.
• Experience with monitoring and logging tools including Datadog, AppDynamics, SolarWinds DPA, and Kibana.
• Performance testing experience with Web services, Kafka brokers, and real-time emulators.

Responsibilities

• Create and execute performance test strategies for on-prem and cloud products.
• Understand system architecture and collect non-functional requirements.
• Perform testing on Microservices and REST APIs.
• Use tools such as JMeter and Storm Runner/Load Runner to script scenarios and execute performance tests.
• Create dashboards for monitoring and observability of platforms.
• Execute various performance tests including load, stress, scalability, endurance, and volume tests.
• Analyze test results and perform root cause analysis for issues.
• Collaborate with the development team to suggest corrective actions for issues.
• Analyze and test performance on database infrastructure.
• Monitor application performance using analytical tools.
• Document plans and results on Confluence and raise defects using Microsoft Azure.
• Establish application and transaction SLAs for performance and ensure adherence to them.
• Analyze, design, and develop performance specifications and scripts based on workflows.
