About the position

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Personal Assistant to provide support in various aspects of daily living for individuals with special needs, including those with autism, dementia, and other long-term care requirements. The ideal candidate will be patient, empathetic, and skilled in monitoring and assisting with personal care tasks. This role is vital in enhancing the quality of life for clients by ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient monitoring to ensure safety and health.
• Assist clients with daily living activities (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
• Administer basic patient care and support individuals with dementia or autism.
• Record and monitor vital signs as needed.
• Engage clients in meaningful activities to promote mental and emotional well-being.
• Assist in memory care activities tailored to individual needs.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment within the group home setting.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop personalized care plans.
• Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance client relationships.

Requirements

• Proficient in patient monitoring techniques and patient care practices.
• Experience working with individuals on the autism spectrum is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of dementia care strategies and memory care practices.
• Ability to assist with vital signs monitoring and long-term care needs.
• Strong understanding of daily living activities (ADLs) assistance.
• Experience in a group home or similar caregiving environment is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Patience, empathy, and a strong commitment to providing high-quality care.
