About the position

The Personal Care Assistant (PRN) role is essential in impacting participants' lives by providing necessary personal care services and health support. This position involves both home care and facility work, primarily in the Norristown area, with some assignments potentially in Pottstown. The role requires flexibility as it is PRN, meaning the assistant will work as needed, primarily Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 4:30 PM, including weekends.

Responsibilities

• Conduct ongoing participant assessments and monitoring.
• Provide assistance with daily activities, including toileting, grooming, and meals.
• Aid in maintaining physical activity and exercise routines.
• Identify safety hazards and respond to emergencies.
• Assist with recreational activities, meal service, and housekeeping.
• Report any changes in participant's condition to center staff.
• Escort participants to appointments and assist with transportation.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of one (1) year of documented experience working with a frail or elderly population or appropriate training from the PACE organization upon hiring if less than one (1) year of experience.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Valid driver's license, insurance, and use of personal vehicle.
• Ability to work independently and adapt to change.
• Some travel within the region may be required.
