About the position

The position involves providing assistance to residents in activities of daily living, ensuring adherence to safety regulations and departmental procedures. The role requires making accurate entries and charts according to Heritage policy and procedure, and strictly following SAMM policies and procedures. The individual must adhere to Universal Precautions and Infection Control Policies, including proper hand washing and the use of PPE when handling infectious materials. The position also involves driving a Heritage vehicle for errands and maintaining a good working rapport with inter-departmental personnel. Participation in in-service education and maintaining confidentiality of resident care information is essential. Responsibilities

  • Assist residents in activities of daily living including dressing, toileting, bathing, grooming, and oral hygiene.
  • Make accurate entries and charts according to Heritage policy and procedure.
  • Follow SAMM policies and procedures strictly.
  • Adhere to Universal Precautions and Infection Control Policies.
  • Report all accidents/incidents to the supervisor immediately.
  • Use safety equipment and supplies while performing duties.
  • Complete assignments within guidelines set by the supervisor.
  • Demonstrate versatility and willingness to cover various functions and shifts as necessary.
  • Drive Heritage vehicle for errands and transportation as directed.
  • Develop and maintain a good working rapport with inter-departmental personnel.
  • Participate in programs designed for in-service education and training.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all resident care information.
  • Perform other job-related duties as requested by the Executive Director.

Requirements

  • High School degree
  • CNA Certification or HHA Certification or Completion of 120 hours Personal Care Training by Heritage and passing PCA certification within four weeks of start date.
  • Basic computer, telephone, and radio skills.
  • Ability to speak English in an understandable manner.
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
  • Current MA Drivers License.
