About the position
Cedar Hill Regional Medical Center, opening in early 2025, will be the first new full-service hospital in Washington, DC in over 20 years. This facility will integrate clinical care with existing community providers, Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC's), The George Washington University Hospital, and an Urgent Care Center in Ward 8. The hospital will feature 136 beds (expandable to 184), a verified trauma center, adult and pediatric emergency departments, maternal health and newborn delivery services, an ambulatory pavilion for outpatient services, a 500-car garage, and a helipad for emergency transport. We are seeking a Pharmacist (PRN) who will provide comprehensive pharmaceutical care through integrated drug distribution, patient counseling, and teaching. The Staff Pharmacist will fill medication orders, monitor drug therapies, provide drug information, and supervise supportive staff. In the absence of the Director of Pharmacy, the Staff Pharmacist may assume essential responsibilities and perform the Director's duties.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive pharmaceutical care through integrated drug distribution, patient counseling, and teaching.
- Fill orders for medications and monitor patients' drug therapies.
- Provide drug information to patients and healthcare providers.
- Supervise and direct supportive staff.
- Assume essential responsibilities of the Director of Pharmacy in their absence.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy.
- Doctor of Pharmacy Degree (Pharm.D.) preferred.
- 8 years of professional experience demonstrating a progressive leadership background.
- Current license to practice as a Pharmacist in the District of Columbia or eligible to obtain.
- Some travel may be required.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with Pyxis and knowledge of Pyxis Reports (i.e., optimization, load/unload, nursing narcotic access, etc.).
