About the position

The Pharmacy Benefits Coordinator at Johnson Service Group (JSG) is responsible for providing exceptional customer service and operational support related to prescription drug benefits. This role involves responding to member inquiries, assisting with prior authorization requests, and supporting the development of policies and procedures for customer service agents. The coordinator will also contribute to workflow improvements and assist in various operational tasks to enhance the overall efficiency of pharmacy operations.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to member questions regarding prescription drug benefits via telephone, e-mail, and written correspondence.
  • Assist Benefits Coordinator II with coordinating intake and processing of Prior Authorization Requests.
  • Provide support to Benefits Coordinator II with training customer service representatives (CSRs).
  • Assist in developing policies and procedures for customer service agents.
  • Resolve escalations in a timely manner to meet Service Level Agreements.
  • Manage the PBM customer service Help Desk for day-to-day tasks.
  • Support the development of client-facing reporting and communications.
  • Implement PBM client management activities to achieve revenue attainment and compliance.
  • Achieve service level targets with various operational tasks.
  • Utilize creative methods to understand customer perceptions of interactions with Pinnacle Rx Solutions.
  • Support leadership in researching new business opportunities and contribute to workflow improvements.
  • Assist in performing process improvements, reporting, analytics, project management, and quality assurance activities.

Requirements

  • High school education or equivalent.
  • 1-3 years of experience in Pharmacy Benefit Management or related fields.
  • Pharmacy Technician Certification Board National Certification (PTCB).
  • Intermediate knowledge of prescription benefits and pharmacy claims.
  • Patient care oriented with ability to set priorities and meet turnaround time frames.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including word-processing and spreadsheet software.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Good skills for project-based tasks.
  • Basic ability using spreadsheet software, particularly Excel's pivot tables and v-lookups.
  • Intermediate ability to research root causes and analyze impacts.
  • Demonstrated ability to express complex technical concepts to senior leadership.
  • Analytical thinking skills and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Availability to work weekend and evening coverage.
