About the position
The Pharmacy Customer Service Associate at Walgreens is responsible for delivering exceptional customer service while assisting in pharmacy operations under the supervision of a pharmacist. This role involves engaging with customers, processing transactions, and ensuring compliance with pharmacy regulations. The associate will also support inventory management and maintain a clean and organized store environment.
Responsibilities
- Models and delivers a distinctive and delightful customer experience.
- Registers sales on assigned cash register and provides courteous checkout service.
- Assists the pharmacist in the practice of pharmacy under direct supervision.
- Engages customers by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services.
- Resolves customer issues and answers questions to ensure a positive experience.
- Recommends items for sale and processes customer purchases efficiently.
- Maintains cleanliness and organization of counters and shelves.
- Enters patient and drug information into pharmacy systems accurately.
- Fills prescriptions by retrieving, counting, and pouring pharmaceutical drugs.
- Reports prescription errors to the pharmacist immediately.
- Handles telephone calls that do not require the pharmacist's personal attention.
- Processes manual claims for third-party prescription services in a timely manner.
- Assists with inventory management activities, including ordering and unpacking pharmaceuticals.
- Constructs and maintains promotional displays and resets as directed.
- Provides customer service in the photo area and assumes web pick-up responsibilities.
- Ensures compliance with state and local laws regarding regulated products.
Requirements
- Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
Nice-to-haves
- Six months of experience in a retail environment.
- Prior work experience with Walgreens.
- Good math skills for accurately filling prescriptions.
- Good computer skills.
- Knowledge of store inventory control.
- PTCB certification.
