About the position

The Pharmacy Customer Service Associate at Walgreens is responsible for delivering exceptional customer service while assisting in pharmacy operations under the supervision of a pharmacist. This part-time role involves engaging with customers, processing transactions, and ensuring compliance with pharmacy regulations. The associate will also support inventory management and maintain a clean and organized store environment.

Responsibilities

  • Models and delivers a distinctive and delightful customer experience.
  • Registers sales on assigned cash register and provides efficient checkout service.
  • Assists the pharmacist in the practice of pharmacy under direct supervision.
  • Uses pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions.
  • Engages customers by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services.
  • Resolves customer issues and answers questions to ensure a positive experience.
  • Recommends items for sale and processes customer purchases, including cash handling.
  • Maintains cleanliness and organization of counters and shelves, and takes inventory.
  • Assists pharmacists in scheduling and maintaining workflow, reporting errors immediately.
  • Handles telephone calls that do not require pharmacist attention and processes manual claims.
  • Assists with inventory management activities, including ordering and unpacking pharmaceuticals.
  • Constructs and maintains displays and ensures compliance with state and local laws.

Requirements

  • Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
  • Requires willingness to work flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.

Nice-to-haves

  • Prefer six months of experience in a retail environment.
  • Prefer prior work experience with Walgreens.
  • Prefer good math skills for accurate prescription filling.
  • Prefer good computer skills and knowledge of store inventory control.
  • Prefer PTCB certification.
