About the position

The Pharmacy Operations Manager at Walgreens is responsible for overseeing day-to-day non-clinical pharmacy operations, ensuring efficient workflow, and enhancing the customer experience. This role involves supervising pharmacy technicians, managing pharmacy systems, and supporting the delivery of patient care under the guidance of a pharmacist. The manager is also accountable for training, performance management, and maintaining compliance with company policies and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Perform day-to-day non-clinical pharmacy operations and administrative activities.
  • Ensure efficient pharmacy workflow and a positive patient experience.
  • Supervise pharmacy technicians and cashiers, ensuring adherence to company policies and regulations.
  • Select, schedule, and develop pharmacy technician personnel.
  • Lead training, coaching, and performance management of pharmacy technicians.
  • Engage customers and resolve complaints to enhance customer experience.
  • Assist pharmacists in patient care delivery, including registration and prescription processing.
  • Manage core pharmacy workflow and drive excellence in operations.
  • Prepare and file reports required by the company and government agencies.
  • Ensure compliance with business administrative activities and pharmacy inventory management tasks.
  • Communicate prescription errors to the accountable pharmacist and adhere to company policies regarding pharmacy errors.
  • Assist in analyzing and improving pharmacy financials and operational quality.
  • Manage Community Outreach Portal and coordinate off-site immunization clinics.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • PTCB or ExCPT certification (except in Puerto Rico).
  • One year of work experience as a pharmacy technician in a retail or hospital setting.
  • Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous people management/leadership experience.
  • Previous work experience with Walgreens with an Exceeding Expectation on last performance evaluation.
