About the position

Cedar Hill Regional Medical Center - Opening in 2025! When open in early 2025, Cedar Hill Regional Medical Center GW Health will be the first new full-service hospital in Washington, DC in more than 20 years! This teaching hospital will integrate clinical care with existing providers, The George Washington University Hospital, and the Urgent Care Center in Ward 8. This clinical integration will establish a robust system of care for all District residents, but more importantly, it will ensure residents of Wards 7 and 8 have access to high quality care in their community. This full-service hospital will include 136 beds (with the ability to expand to 184 beds), a verified trauma center, adult and pediatric emergency departments, maternal health and delivery, an ambulatory pavilion for physician offices, clinics, a community space, a 500-car garage and a helipad for emergency transports. We are seeking an experienced Pharmacy Technician to support the day to day operations of the Pharmacy department.

Responsibilities

  • Under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist, assist in the preparing and distributing medications, maintaining the drug inventory and maintenance of records.
  • Procures and distributes drug orders per physician request, pharmacist request or prearranged work assignment according to established policies, procedures and protocols.
  • Perform medication dose calculations for adult and pediatric populations.
  • Collects data, conducts inspections and maintains logs and other documentation as assigned.
  • Functions in accordance with standard written procedures, guidelines and state and federal regulations.
  • Performs a variety of service and administrative tasks as required.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Associate's Degree from an accredited Technical School, College or University preferred.
  • Minimum one year experience as a Pharmacy Technician in a hospital setting preferred.
  • Licensed as a Pharmacy Technician in the District of Columbia.
