Phlebotomist I

About the position

The Phlebotomist I position at Quest Diagnostics in Seven Fields, PA, is a full-time role focused on collecting specimens and performing various laboratory tasks. The role requires adherence to established procedures and protocols while ensuring accurate data entry and customer service. The position operates on a day shift schedule, with occasional weekend rotations, and offers competitive pay and benefits.

Responsibilities

• Collect specimens according to established procedures, including drug screens and biometric screenings.
• Administer oral solutions as per established training.
• Research test/client information and confirm all written and electronic orders using lab technology systems.
• Navigate a computer and accurately enter data.
• Obtain identification and enter billing information, collecting payments when required.
• Process specimens including labeling, centrifuging, aliquoting, and preparing for transport.
• Perform non-patient facing duties such as inventory management, sanitizing, and answering phones.
• Comply with departmental policies, protocols, and procedures.
• Assist with the compilation and submission of statistics and data as required.
• Maintain phlebotomy logs in a timely manner and based on frequency.
• Complete online and in-person training courses timely.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Medical training as a medical assistant or paramedic preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred (required in California, Nevada, and Washington).
• One year of phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Customer service experience in a retail or service environment preferred.
• Keyboard/data entry experience.

• Experience in a medical or clinical setting.
• Familiarity with laboratory technology systems.
