About The Position

The Phlebotomist position at IASIS Healthcare involves performing venipunctures and skin punctures with competence and efficiency. The role requires a thorough understanding of test requirements and includes responsibilities such as collecting patient samples and conducting specified lab tests under the supervision of a Lab Technician. The Phlebotomist will also participate in performance improvement activities and provide services to patients across all age ranges, from infants to geriatrics.

Requirements

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Eighty hours of training in proper venipuncture and skin puncture procedures under supervision.
• Medical Assistant or Phlebotomy certification preferred.
• Completion of all CLA training checklist under supervision.
• BLS (American Heart Association CPR) Certification within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform venipunctures and skin punctures competently and expediently.
• Collect patient samples for testing.
• Conduct specified lab tests in Microbiology, Hematology, and Urinalysis under supervision.
• Participate in Performance Improvement activities.
• Provide service to patients of all age ranges, from infants to geriatrics.
