The Physical Therapist at UNC Health Appalachian plays a crucial role in evaluating, treating, and educating patients who experience dysfunctions in their musculoskeletal, cardio-pulmonary, and neurological systems. This position is integral to the Rehabilitation team, where the therapist is expected to provide departmental support aimed at continual improvement and achieving excellent patient outcomes. The therapist will utilize critical thinking and problem-solving skills, alongside effective verbal and written communication, to deliver exceptional customer service. In this role, the Physical Therapist integrates scientific knowledge with technical skills to ensure quality patient care and provide useful diagnostic information. The therapist is responsible for both direct and indirect patient care services tailored to meet the unique needs of each patient. Ethical decision-making and compassionate interactions are paramount, as the therapist must respect the inherent dignity and worth of every individual. Effective communication with patients, families, visitors, colleagues, physicians, leadership, and volunteers is essential to foster a collaborative environment. The Physical Therapist is expected to adhere to UNC Health Appalachian's policies, regulatory requirements, and standards of behavior while practicing within the scope of their license.
