About The Position

This position is for a Physician Assistant within the Federal service, specifically in various locations including Chinle, AZ, Inscription House, AZ, Kayenta, AZ, Pinon, AZ, Red Mesa, AZ, Tsaile, AZ, Bloomfield, NM, Gallup, NM, Shiprock, NM, and Tohatchi, NM. The role requires applicants to have sufficient experience and/or education to perform the duties associated with the position. Experience can include both paid and unpaid work, including volunteer work through National Service programs. Applicants must clearly identify their duties and responsibilities in their resume, including the total number of hours worked per week. The position is open from March 6, 2024, to January 31, 2025.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited physician assistant educational program.
  • Successful completion of the NCCPA examination and maintenance of certification.
  • Possession of a current, active, full, and unrestricted license as a Physician Assistant.
  • For GS-9: Completion of a Master's in Physician Assistant Studies or related field, or one year of experience equivalent to GS-7.
  • For GS-11: Completion of a Doctorate in Physician Assistant Studies or related field, or one year of experience equivalent to GS-9.
  • For GS-12: One year of experience equivalent to GS-11.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in diagnosing and treating patients.
  • Analyze and interpret x-rays and lab results.
  • Take patient histories and order various forms of therapy.
  • Examine patients and maintain a safe and clean working environment.
  • Adhere to infection control policies and protocols.
  • Perform physical examinations and document patient care services.
  • Administer injections and immunizations, manage wounds and infections.
  • Develop and implement patient management plans.
