About The Position

The Urgent Care Fellowship program at WellNow Urgent Care is designed for Nurse Practitioners (NP) and Physician Assistants (PA) seeking to enhance their clinical experience in Urgent Care Medicine. This minimum 9-month program offers a structured cognitive and clinical education, mentorship from experienced professionals, and hands-on patient care opportunities. The fellowship aims to develop proficient urgent care providers equipped to deliver high-quality care in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

• Successful completion of an accredited approved PA or FNP program.
• Active board certification with NCCPA for Physician Assistants is required.
• Active board certification with AANP or ANCC for Family Nurse Practitioners is required.
• Licensure as a Physician Assistant or Family Nurse Practitioner in the state where you are applying is required.
• Demonstrated clinical competence and superior verbal and written communication skills.
• Interpersonal effectiveness and customer relation skills, computer competence, and an active desire to learn.

Responsibilities

• Work collaboratively with Urgent Care teams under the mentorship of experienced NP/PA's to provide care for patients.
• Examine, diagnose, and treat patients of all ages with acute illnesses and injuries or exacerbations of chronic disease.
• Order evidence-based testing, prescribe medications, and refer to outside specialists as required.
• Provide occupational medicine services, including DOT exams and the treatment of Worker's Compensation injuries.
• Perform pre-participation physicals for camps, sports, and employment.
• Maintain patient charts accurately and comprehensively.
• Document patient information in Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
