About the position

This position is for a Physician Assistant within the Federal service, specifically in locations such as Browning, Harlem, Hays, Heart Butte, and Lame Deer, MT. The role requires candidates to demonstrate sufficient experience and/or education to perform the duties associated with the position. Experience can include both paid and unpaid work, including volunteer work through National Service programs. Responsibilities

  • Assist in diagnosing and deciding treatment for patients.
  • Analyze and interpret x-rays and lab results.
  • Take patient histories and order various forms of therapy.
  • Examine patients and maintain a safe and clean working environment.
  • Adhere to infection control policies and protocols.
  • Perform physical examinations and document patient care services.
  • Administer injections and immunizations.
  • Provide continuity of care by developing and implementing patient management plans.
  • Instruct and counsel patients about prescribed therapeutic regimens.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited physician assistant educational program.
  • Successful completion of the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) examination.
  • Current, active, full, and unrestricted license as a Physician Assistant.
  • At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level in the Federal service.

Nice-to-haves

  • Completion of a Master's degree in Physician Assistant Studies or a related health care field.
  • Completion of a Doctorate of Physician Assistant Studies or equivalent.
  • Experience in a clinical setting with direct patient care.
