About the position

The Pipelayer position at PCL Construction in Bradenton, Florida, involves contributing to the installation and maintenance of mechanical piping systems. Responsibilities

• Perform layout, set elevations, and grading for piping installations.
• Install above ground mechanical piping and supports.
• Install carbon steel piping and Victaulic couplings, with experience in copper piping being a plus.
• Read and interpret contract documents, submittals, shop drawings, and architectural, structural, and mechanical drawings.
• Create a safe working environment and adhere to OSHA regulations.
• Communicate tool and material requirements to the supervisor.
• Set up and perform piping tests.
• Identify potential issues during installation and report them to the Foreman/Gen Foreman.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years' experience in the pipe-fitter/mechanical trade.
• Ability to read and understand construction drawings and specifications.
• Experience in carbon steel, copper (soldering, brazing), and PVC installations.
• Experience setting mechanical equipment including clarifier equipment and pumps.
• Reliable transportation to the job site.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work well with others.
• Ability to pass a background check and drug test.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Victaulic couplings and fittings.
• Familiarity with setting mechanical equipment.
