About the position
The Maintenance - Reliability Tech B position at Plant 22 Thomson focuses on executing maintenance tasks with an emphasis on safety, quality, and customer service. The role involves maintaining and troubleshooting various mechanical systems to ensure optimal performance and support manufacturing processes. The technician will also mentor junior staff and contribute to proactive maintenance plans.
Responsibilities
- Execution of assigned tasks and duties with a focus on safe work practices.
- Perform high-quality, precision work with a customer service orientation.
- Adhere to standards and best practices acquired through training and work experience.
- Grow in knowledge of maintenance practices and equipment performance.
- Provide feedback on job assignment needs and improvement opportunities.
- Maintain manufacturing process and support equipment to the highest performance levels.
- Troubleshoot and execute repairs of equipment affecting safety, quality, and productivity.
- Communicate findings and corrective steps to operations and maintenance leadership.
- Execute and provide feedback on proactive maintenance plans including Preventive, Predictive, and Condition Maintenance.
- Mentor Reliability Techs C & D in skill development.
Requirements
- Knowledge of safety practices including LOTO, Confined Space, PPE, and Hot Work.
- Proficiency in computer applications for work order documentation and parts requisitioning.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical schematics.
- Math skills including arithmetic and application of formulas for area and volume.
- Ability to select and use proper tools for work assignments.
- Knowledge of power transmission system and component installation techniques.
- Basic fabrication skills including welding and cutting techniques.
- Intermediate troubleshooting techniques of mechanical systems.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with Infrared Thermography and oil sample analysis.
- Familiarity with laser alignment techniques.
