About the position

The Plant Human Resources Manager at International Dehydrated Foods, Inc. is a pivotal role responsible for the development, implementation, and coordination of various human resource procedures and systems. This position encompasses a wide range of responsibilities, including employment processes, employee relations, wage and salary administration, and benefit administration, which includes health and dental plans. The manager will oversee the orientation and training of new employees, manage payroll processes, and ensure the maintenance of personnel files and the employee handbook. A key aspect of this role is to preserve the non-union status of the plant while ensuring compliance with all relevant state and federal laws, such as the ADA, FMLA, Civil Rights Act, and Equal Employment Opportunity Act. In this role, the HR Manager will develop and coordinate all activities of the Human Resource Department, setting departmental goals and objectives, and implementing process improvements. The manager will be responsible for investigating violations and complaints, participating in corrective actions, and managing terminations. Additionally, the HR Manager will coordinate the development and administration of associate health, security, and benefit programs, as well as implement and update compensation and performance recognition programs. Training programs for managers, supervisors, and hourly associates will also be developed and coordinated, covering topics such as leadership, legal issues, and new hire orientation. The HR Manager will direct hiring activities to ensure the timely recruitment of qualified employees while adhering to company standards. Monitoring turnover rates and suggesting methods to address any issues will be part of the responsibilities. The manager will also maintain good public relations with local civic organizations and businesses, monitor unemployment claims, and coordinate the Drug-Free Workplace process. Providing direction to the HR Assistant/Receptionist is also a key responsibility of this role.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and coordinate training programs for managers, supervisors, and hourly associates.

  • Monitor turnover and suggest methods to address issues.
  • Maintain good public relations with local civic organizations and businesses regarding HR functions.
  • Monitor unemployment claims and coordinate appeals.
  • Coordinate Drug-Free Workplace processes and provide direction to the HR Assistant/Receptionist.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3-5 years direct experience in an industrial environment in the Personnel/Human Resources area.
  • Experience in employment process, compensation and benefits, incentive programs, quality improvement, employee relations, wage and salary administration, benefit administration, and payroll.
  • Bachelor's Degree is required.
  • Ability to develop a team environment and effectively coach others.
  • Strong focus on improving productivity and aligning with company goals.
  • Experience in managing personnel and operations to ensure timely customer receipt of products.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a food plant environment is preferred.
