About the position

The Plant Operator / Sr. Plant Operator at Boardwalk Pipeline Partners is responsible for operating and maintaining the Bistineau Compressor Station facility. This role involves ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations while performing various operational tasks, including valve inspections, gas sampling, and facility maintenance. The operator will work rotating 12-hour shifts and must be self-motivated, capable of working independently, and able to respond to call-outs expediently.

Responsibilities

  • Operate the Bistineau Compressor Station and maintain auxiliary equipment.
  • Perform valve inspections and atmospheric corrosion monitoring.
  • Conduct tank inspections and facility yard maintenance.
  • Carry out gas sampling and maintain all tools and equipment assigned to the role.
  • Ensure compliance with DOT, OSHA, and Environmental rules and regulations.
  • Complete compliance documentation for the assigned role.
  • Successfully complete all Operator Qualification tasks assigned for this position.
  • Work independently and respond to call-outs as needed.

Requirements

  • More than 1 year of experience in compressor station and/or pipeline operating systems.
  • Knowledge and experience in DOT 192 and DOT 195 compliance.
  • Basic understanding of gas compression systems and dehydration equipment.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to interact with all levels of personnel.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft programs.
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and follow company procedures and manufacturers guidelines.
  • Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs. for a minimum of 50 feet to transfer tools and equipment.
  • Ability to operate valve control wheels with a minimum of 50 turns.
  • Ability to work alone in extreme weather conditions and high noise areas.

Nice-to-haves

  • 3 or more years of experience with compression equipment operation and maintenance.
  • 3 or more years of experience with dehydration equipment including dry bed desiccant and glycol plants.
  • Previous electrical and instrumentation experience.
  • Associate degree or Certificate of Completion in gas compression design, operation, and maintenance from a verifiable accrediting body or institution.
