About the position
The PLC Programmer/Technician at Packaging Corporation of America (PCA) will be responsible for developing PLC programming for machine controls at the Honea Path Maintenance and Reliability Center. This role involves working closely with electrical and mechanical teams to ensure that refurbished machines operate reliably and intuitively. The position requires a strong background in PLC programming, particularly with Automation Direct and Allen Bradley systems, and offers opportunities for professional growth through paid training.
Responsibilities
- Develop PLC programming for machine controls.
- Collaborate with electrical and mechanical teams to ensure reliable and intuitive machine operation.
- Support equipment installations at other PCA plants as needed.
- Refurbish and recontrol used machines, including rewiring and reprogramming with modern hardware and software.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in a PLC programming role.
- Technical degree or certification in PLC programming and/or Allen Bradley software training.
- Reliable work history.
- Authorization to work in the US.
