About the position

FUJIFILM Electronic Materials, U.S.A., Inc. is a global leader in chemical solutions that enable the semiconductor industry and the digital universe. We are currently seeking a PLC Programmer for our Mesa, Arizona facility. This role is crucial in supporting the development and enhancement of Controls programs at the Mesa site, working closely with the Maintenance department management, existing Associate Controls resources, and operating groups. The PLC Programmer will also play a key role in executing capital projects that align with business objectives. In this position, the PLC Programmer will be responsible for developing PLC programs and related human-machine interfaces (HMI). This includes drawing cable and schematic plans for the construction and installation of Controls, designing, testing, and troubleshooting Controls systems, and configuring networking components related to Controls systems. The role also involves preparing part numbers and compiling bills of materials (BoM), working proficiently with various types of motors and drives, and analyzing and recommending solutions to circuit and Controls challenges. Collaboration is essential, as the PLC Programmer will work cooperatively with other engineers to create effective Controls systems and assist Process Engineering in preparing and verifying working and test procedures for production activities. Providing technical support to Service Technicians and conducting internal training when required are also key responsibilities. The role may include other duties as reasonably assigned, making it a dynamic position within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Develop PLC programs and related HMI (human-machine interfaces).
  • Draw cable and schematic plans for use in the construction and installation of Controls.
  • Design, test, and troubleshoot Controls systems.
  • Configure and troubleshoot networking components regarding Controls systems.
  • Prepare part numbers and compile bills of materials (BoM).
  • Work proficiently with all types of motors and drives, and associated software.
  • Analyze and recommend solutions to circuit and Controls challenges.
  • Work cooperatively with other engineers to create Controls systems.
  • Assist Process Engineering in preparing and verifying working and test procedures for Production activities.
  • Provide technical support to Service Technicians for service.
  • Provide internal training for Service Technicians when required.
  • Perform all other duties as reasonably assigned.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in instrumentation or related field.
  • 1 to 3 years of experience working in an industrial, manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in Industrial Controls / PLC programming with a focus on Allen Bradley Controllogix equipment and systems.
  • Hands-on knowledge and experience with complex instrumentation and Associate Controls systems.
  • Familiarity with Foundation Field Bus protocol systems and infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with design and deployment of SCADA systems architecture.
  • Experience in Controls systems troubleshooting and problem-solving.
  • Sufficient knowledge and experience to provide technical guidance in support of operational objectives.
  • Experience with SAP preferred.
  • Strong computer skills (MS-Excel, Word, Google Mail, Drive, etc.) required.
  • Detail-oriented individual, able to manage multiple tasks with input from various individuals in the maintenance and engineering department.
  • Must have a valid Arizona driver's license and clean driving record.
  • Must be able to lift/push up to 50 pounds.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work well with others at all levels of the organization.
