The Plumber is responsible for maintaining plumbing systems in compliance with federal, state, and local guidelines, as well as standards set by JCAHO and NFPA. This includes informing supervisors of any non-compliance issues. The role requires a general understanding of various office machines, hospital equipment, kitchen equipment, and other tools necessary for the job. Key tasks include installing, repairing, and performing preventive maintenance on water, sewer, natural gas, and medical gas systems, as well as sterilizers and washers. Additionally, the Plumber will maintain and perform preventive maintenance on dirty linen chutes, fire sprinkler systems, and lawn sprinkling systems. The position also involves assisting in evaluating and maintaining an inventory of spare parts, tools, and other necessary hardware.
