About the position

Techstra Solutions is seeking an experienced PM/BA in Data Governance to join our team in Pittsburgh, PA. In this role, you will be instrumental in implementing the Data Management and Governance Operating Model, which is essential for ensuring the quality, integrity, and governance of critical data assets across the Risk and Finance organization. From day one, you will be surrounded by a team of dedicated professionals, and you will hit the ground running with a variety of responsibilities that will challenge and engage you. Your primary focus will be to collaborate with stakeholders to support data management sustainability and excellence. You will work closely with business units, data owners, and data custodians to identify critical data assets, define data quality requirements, and build data lineage. Additionally, you will collaborate with data management teams, including data architecture, data engineering, and metadata management, to ensure alignment and integration in accordance with enterprise data management policies and standards. As a subject matter expert on the Data Governance Operating Model, you will provide guidance and support to stakeholders across Risk and Finance. Your experience in Data Governance and Regulatory Reporting within these domains will be crucial as you lead initiatives from concept to implementation, demonstrating a track record of successful delivery. You will also be expected to manage operational activities such as business analysis and testing, while having a strong understanding of data governance principles, data quality management concepts, and regulatory requirements such as BCBS 239 and GDPR. To thrive in this role, you will need strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to manage multiple competing priorities under pressure. Familiarity with Agile methodology is essential, as you will play an active role in scrums, including backlog refinement, sprint planning, and execution. Your ability to apply backlog prioritization to define sprint goals and enable iterative deliveries will be key to your success. Furthermore, you will be expected to inspire and build momentum across the team while also being a team player who is willing to roll up your sleeves when needed.

Responsibilities

• Implement the Data Management and Governance Operating Model to ensure data quality and integrity.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to support data management sustainability and excellence.
• Work closely with business units, data owners, and data custodians to identify critical data assets and define data quality requirements.
• Build data lineage and ensure alignment with enterprise data management policies and standards.
• Serve as a subject matter expert on Data Governance Operating Model and provide guidance to stakeholders across Risk and Finance.
• Manage operational activities including business analysis and testing related to data governance.
• Utilize data governance tooling and technologies for effective data profiling and management.

Requirements

• 5-10 years of total work experience with at least 3-5 years in a Data Governance role supporting Risk and/or Finance.
• Hands-on experience in Data Governance and Regulatory Reporting from concept to implementation.
• Strong stakeholder management and people skills with the ability to manage multiple competing priorities under pressure.
• Familiarity with Agile methodology and active participation in scrums such as backlog refinement and sprint planning.
• Strong understanding of data governance principles, data quality management concepts, and regulatory requirements (e.g., BCBS 239, GDPR).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex data issues.
