About the position

Genesis10 is currently seeking an IT Program Manager with our client in the financial industry located in Charlotte, NC. This is a 12+ month contract position that offers a unique opportunity to lead major projects within a dynamic environment. The IT Program Manager will be responsible for managing various aspects of project delivery, including status reporting, issue escalation, risk mitigation, and key messaging. The role requires a strong ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and verbally, to ensure that all stakeholders are informed and aligned on project objectives and timelines. In this position, the IT Program Manager will work closely with technology executives and their delegates to influence project direction and escalate issues as necessary to meet target dates. The role also involves financial tracking and forecasting, which are critical for maintaining project budgets and ensuring that deliverables are met on time. The Program Manager will provide leadership in a matrix organization, collaborating with skilled architects, engineers, and business partners to drive project success. Building and maintaining relationships with business leaders is essential for this role. The IT Program Manager will engage with these leaders to establish credibility, solve problems, build consensus, and achieve project objectives. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is comfortable working autonomously while also collaborating with local and remote teams.

Responsibilities

  • Lead major projects
  • Work with tech executives and delegates to influence and escalate as necessary to meet target dates and mitigate risks
  • Responsible for status reporting, issue escalation, risk mitigation, key messaging/communication (written and verbal), deliverable date management, forecasting, and financial tracking
  • Provide leadership in a matrix organization of skilled architects, engineers, and business partners
  • Build and maintain relationships by engaging business leaders to establish credibility, solve problems, build consensus, and achieve objectives

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Engineering, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Computer Information Systems, or related field
  • 10+ years progressive industry experience
  • Working knowledge of GIT Hub or similar environment
  • Management consulting background or history of solving unique challenges to managing large programs
  • Hands-on experience putting together trending on progress via several systems
  • Proficient in Excel formulas, pivoting, and lookups
  • PowerPoint presentation skills to senior leaders
  • Ability to work autonomously and collaborate effectively with local and remote co-workers in a fast-paced environment
