About the position

The Polysomnographic Technologist is responsible for administering sleep studies to diagnose sleep disorders in an outpatient setting. This role involves performing assessments, scoring sleep studies, documenting results, and maintaining the sleep lab environment. The technologist must recognize sleep pathology and respond to protocols to ensure patient safety and care according to AASM guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Administer various sleep studies to diagnose sleep disorders.
  • Perform routine assessments and score sleep studies.
  • Document test results and collect specimens for analysis when applicable.
  • Apply recording devices to patients and clean/sterilize equipment.
  • Maintain the sleep lab area with minimal supervision.
  • Recognize sleep pathology and respond appropriately to protocols.

Requirements

  • Minimum one year experience in an established sleep center preferred.
  • RPSGT, CPSGT, RT-SDS certification required.
  • BLS certification required.
  • ACLS certification preferred.
