At Selective Insurance, we are excited to announce a new opportunity for a Portfolio Agile Coach to join our dynamic team. This position is pivotal as it reports directly to the Transformation Office, which is responsible for driving a Product Transformation initiative within the company. The Portfolio Agile Coach will play a crucial role in collaborating closely with key business roles, including business owners, value stream owners, product managers, and product owners. The primary objective of this role is to ensure that our product orientation is strategically aligned to drive measurable business outcomes that support our overarching strategic plan. In this role, the Portfolio Agile Coach will be a key influencer in shaping both the operational and strategic direction of Selective Insurance. The individual will be tasked with systematically ensuring that strategies are effectively implemented in alignment with business goals. This involves coaching senior business leaders and value stream leaders through the refinement of their business strategies and portfolio vision. The coach will guide these leaders in the creation and refinement of epics and features, which will be measured by defined Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). The Portfolio Agile Coach will also be responsible for driving agile and product maturity across a portfolio that encompasses approximately 15 teams. This includes identifying current gaps and challenges, building a comprehensive coaching plan, and guiding teams through the advancement of their programs and portfolios while measuring successful outcomes. Establishing portfolio-level ceremonies and managing an epic Kanban board will be essential tasks in this role. Additionally, the coach will facilitate continuous improvement within agile teams, programs, and departments by employing techniques such as Inspect & Adapt, Retrospectives, and Root Cause Analysis. Furthermore, the Portfolio Agile Coach will facilitate the tracking and reporting of agile metrics at the program level, such as backlog health, predictability, lead time, cycle time, and quality, to promote transparency and continuous improvement. The role will also involve influencing financial reporting practices to align with the product model, ensuring that our financial strategies are in sync with our agile transformation efforts.
