About the position

Republic National Distributing Company (RNDC) is seeking a Portfolio Manager of Supplier Excellence who will play a crucial role in driving results for RNDC, our customers, and our supplier partners. This position is responsible for delivering mutually beneficial needs through regular collaboration and ongoing communication that optimizes state sales execution. The Portfolio Manager will be accountable for executing the supplier's commercial strategy, programming, and P&L, with a focus on growing both supplier and RNDC revenue and profitability. In this role, the Portfolio Manager will ensure compliance with supplier agreements through regular audits and analysis of market activity. They will own the full Supplier P&L, maximizing top-line revenue by developing strategies to grow the business with a portfolio of suppliers while maintaining bottom-line profitability. The manager will also be responsible for translating, optimizing, and enabling supplier strategies and initiatives across all RNDC functions and footprints. This includes consulting with the supply chain team, purchasing, demand planners, and centralized buying teams to optimize inventory levels and deliver accurate forecasting models that align with supplier annual operating plans. The Portfolio Manager will lead the development and execution of supplier-based commercial plans, new item setups, and launches, setting targets and goals for suppliers. They will align with supplier and state sales leadership in program development and execution, driving commercial programming for the supplier portfolio. Additionally, the manager will facilitate seamless communication across RNDC's network of teams, including state sales leadership, national accounts, supply chain, and sales finance. They will review and analyze brands for sales and profit opportunities, identifying high-growth potential suppliers and brands while driving out under-performing brands and SKUs. The role also requires maintaining fluency on industry trends, regulations, and best practices, attending key industry conferences to represent RNDC and build strategic relationships. Finally, the Portfolio Manager will lead special projects and supplier initiatives that drive mutually beneficial needs for RNDC and the supplier portfolio.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance of supplier agreements through regular audit and analysis of market activity.
  • Own full Supplier P&L, maximizing top line revenue by developing strategies to grow business with portfolio of suppliers.
  • Maintain bottom line profitability and optimal mix, SKU, and brand line ups for the geography.
  • Translate, optimize, and enable supplier strategy and initiatives across all RNDC functions and footprints.
  • Consult with supply chain team, purchasing, demand planners, and centralized buying teams to optimize inventory levels.
  • Adhere to mutually agreed upon days on hand and deliver accurate forecasting models.
  • Own supplier based commercial plans / AOPs, new item setups and launches including setting targets and goals for suppliers.
  • Align with supplier and state sales leadership in program development, delivery, and execution.
  • Develop, lead, and cascade supplier programs, goals, KPIs, and other key initiatives.
  • Drive commercial programming for supplier portfolio.
  • Facilitate seamless communication across RNDC Network of teams, inclusive of state sale leadership, national accounts, supply chain, and sales finance.
  • Review and analyze brands for opportunities for sales and profits, identifying high growth potential suppliers and brands.
  • Drive out under-performing brands and SKUs.
  • Maintain fluency on industry trends, regulations, and best practices; attend key industry conferences to represent RNDC.
  • Lead special projects and supplier initiatives that drive mutually beneficial needs for RNDC and the supplier portfolio.

Requirements

  • Five or more years of related experience with an alcoholic beverage wholesaler or supplier and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
