About the position

The University of Massachusetts Lowell is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Associate in Experimental Nuclear Physics to join their Nuclear Physics group. This role involves engaging in experimental research at national user facilities and the university's Radiation Laboratory, focusing on nuclear structure, nuclear astrophysics, and applied nuclear science. The position encourages recent PhD graduates to contribute to existing programs while pursuing their own research interests.

Responsibilities

• Conduct experimental research in nuclear physics at national user facilities and on-campus Radiation Laboratory.
• Engage in research focused on fundamental nuclear structure and nuclear astrophysics.
• Work with state-of-the-art nuclear detectors and techniques.
• Assist in the development and application of emerging scintillators and segmented HPGe detectors.
• Mentor graduate and undergraduate students in the research group.

Requirements

• Ph.D. in experimental nuclear physics or a closely related field.
• Experience with advanced nuclear detectors and techniques.
• Familiarity with multi-parameter digital data acquisition and analysis of accelerator-based experiments.
