The Experimental Particle Physics group at Northeastern University in Boston has an immediate opening for a Postdoctoral Research Associate to work on the Compact Muon Solenoid (CMS) experiment at CERN. This position will be based at CERN, where the successful candidate will engage in significant research activities related to the operation and upgrades of the endcap muon system, the electromagnetic calorimeter, and the new MTD, as well as the Level-1 trigger. The group is actively involved in various physics efforts, including searches for physics beyond the standard model, di-Higgs boson studies, and precision electroweak and QCD measurements. The successful candidate is expected to contribute to the upgrade of the CMS endcap muon system and take a leading role in physics data analysis, particularly focusing on BSM models that couple to third-generation quarks. In addition to research responsibilities, the candidate will be expected to engage in outreach and science communication efforts, as well as contribute to diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives within the department. The role also provides an opportunity to mentor and work with Ph.D. and undergraduate students, fostering a collaborative research environment.
