About the position

The Rasgon Laboratory at The Pennsylvania State University is seeking up to 5 postdoctoral researchers to lead various funded projects focused on mosquito-virus interactions, genetic manipulation tools, and vector-pathogen interactions. This position is entirely research-oriented, with a one-year appointment that may be extended based on performance and funding availability.

Responsibilities

  • Lead research projects related to mosquito-virus interactions and genetic engineering technologies.
  • Perform experiments and data analysis.
  • Provide guidance and mentoring for undergraduate and graduate students.
  • Write manuscripts and ensure data integrity.
  • Obtain additional funding for research projects.

Requirements

  • PhD in Entomology, molecular biology, or a related field.
  • Experience with mosquitoes and infecting them with pathogens.
  • Familiarity with CRISPR and other genetic manipulation techniques.
  • Knowledge in molecular biology, virology, and microbiology.
  • Completion of all degree requirements by the appointment date.
