About the position
The Rasgon Laboratory at The Pennsylvania State University is seeking up to 5 postdoctoral researchers to lead various funded projects focused on mosquito-virus interactions, genetic manipulation tools, and vector-pathogen interactions. This position is entirely research-oriented, with a one-year appointment that may be extended based on performance and funding availability.
Responsibilities
- Lead research projects related to mosquito-virus interactions and genetic engineering technologies.
- Perform experiments and data analysis.
- Provide guidance and mentoring for undergraduate and graduate students.
- Write manuscripts and ensure data integrity.
- Obtain additional funding for research projects.
Requirements
- PhD in Entomology, molecular biology, or a related field.
- Experience with mosquitoes and infecting them with pathogens.
- Familiarity with CRISPR and other genetic manipulation techniques.
- Knowledge in molecular biology, virology, and microbiology.
- Completion of all degree requirements by the appointment date.
