We develop effortless and safe Wireless Charging designs that are central to Apple's products - the iPad, iPhone, Apple Watch, AirPods and more! We are looking for a power design engineer that leads the integration of the inductive technology into products in partnership with multiple discipline teams including but not limited to architecture, FW, system EE, silicon, noise and vibration, safety, thermal, reliability, operations, regulatory teams and more. Responsibilities

  • Developing and designing wireless power systems.
  • Meeting high standards for analysis and manufacturing discipline.
  • Working with cross-functional teams to pass all specifications and requirements necessary to ship a product.
  • Writing requirements, specifications, and test plans for both hardware and firmware.
  • Defining factory tests, test limits, and performing failure analysis and corrective actions.
  • Guiding the team in the development of necessary algorithms, state-transition diagrams/flowcharts, and analysis for each regime of operation.

Requirements

  • Solid EE fundamentals in both analog and digital design with focus on Power Electronics.
  • Solid fundamentals in modeling, data collection, data analysis, and statistical analysis tools (e.g., Python, JMP, Matlab).
  • Circuit level simulation experience in EE simulation platforms like Cadence/ADS/LTspice etc.
  • Up to 20% travel required.
  • BS and a minimum of 3 years relevant industry experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Comfortable with tackling new challenges with critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Team player with great communication skills and ability to lead multiple-discipline teams to make design tradeoffs based on available information in a timely manner.
  • Hands-on experience and proven track record in system definition, integration, architecture, prototyping, and validation.
  • Knowledge and experience in direct wireless charging.
  • Experience in high volume products from concept to end, and working with contract manufacturers.
  • Experience with firmware definition and debugging.
  • Experience working with cross-functional firmware partners.
  • Direct coding experience and algorithm design experience is a plus.
  • Masters/PhD in relevant EE field.
