Powerhouse Operator

About the position

The Powerhouse Operator at Goodyear is responsible for supporting the manufacturing process through troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and repair of tire-related manufacturing machinery and equipment. This role emphasizes safety and housekeeping within the facility, ensuring efficient operation of boilers and related systems while adhering to environmental and safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain boilers, boiler controls, and related equipment.
• Lubricate compressed air systems and correct water PH levels.
• Perform laboratory water tests and other water chemistry tests as necessary.
• Safely operate powerhouse equipment in accordance with EPA and OSHA regulations.
• Enter test results and operational data into spreadsheets and analyze for trends.
• Inspect and repair equipment and piping as required to maintain reliability.
• Operate and maintain natural gas and fuel oil heating systems, pumps, and water treatment systems.
• Report equipment irregularities and communicate operational information among operators.
• Contain, clean up, and dispose of spills in accordance with safety regulations.
• Log maintenance activities using a computerized work order system.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Boiler Journeyman License.
• Minimum of one year experience with operations of boilers and boiler controls.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to work any and/or rotating shifts, weekends, holidays, or overtime if applicable.

Nice-to-haves

• Previous experience as an Industrial Powerhouse Operator.
• State certification for boiler operator.
• Journeyman's card.
• Basic knowledge of machine technology and heavy industrial machinery.
