About the position

The Pre-Press CAD Designer at Larkin Industries is responsible for creating detailed CAD designs and layouts for various print finishing projects. This role combines technical expertise with creativity and hands-on production skills to deliver high-quality print solutions, particularly in die cutting, embossing, and foil stamping. The designer will also produce physical samples, collaborate with sales and production teams, and ensure quality control throughout the design and production process.

Responsibilities

• Create accurate and detailed CAD designs and layouts for print finishing projects including die cutting, embossing, and foil stamping.
• Produce physical samples of print finishing designs using various materials and techniques.
• Operate and maintain sample-making equipment such as plotters and other prototyping tools.
• Collaborate with sales and production departments to ensure clear understanding of project requirements and timelines.
• Provide technical support and advice regarding design feasibility and production processes.
• Review and verify the accuracy and quality of CAD designs and samples before final production.
• Maintain organized records of all CAD designs, revisions, and sample production processes.
• Stay updated on industry trends, tools, and technologies related to CAD design and print finishing.

Requirements

• Proficiency in CAD software (Cimax, Adobe, Illustrator, Adobe PDF).
• Experience working with vector art and converting text and images to vector art.
• Strong understanding of print finishing processes and materials.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
