Pricing Analyst

About the position

The position involves a comprehensive range of responsibilities focused on cost analysis, data analysis, pricing modeling, and financial planning. The role requires a deep understanding of pricing theory and practices, as well as the ability to build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and customers. The candidate will be responsible for preparing and presenting pricing fluctuation analyses, developing pricing strategies, and supporting business decisions with data-driven insights. The position also emphasizes the importance of teamwork and collaboration in achieving pricing objectives.

Responsibilities

• Understand Bills of Materials (BOMs), costs, and profit margins. Measure actual pricing performance vs estimate/quoted prices.
• Utilize data analysis tools to interpret sales data, identify pricing patterns, and assess the impact of price changes on revenue and margins.
• Monitor sales order prices, update price lists, and research/correct deviations.
• Prepare and present weekly, monthly and quarterly pricing fluctuation analysis and profitability impacts.
• Create and maintain pricing models to simulate different pricing scenarios and forecast potential revenue impacts.
• Help monitor, record, and reconcile revenue recognition. Monitor discounts and credits including approval.
• Provide data and analysis to build forecasts, budgets, and long-range forecasts.
• Review all proposals and measure adequate profitability and volume trade-off.
• Develop and implement pricing strategies based on market insights.
• Develop and guide the activities related to pricing.
• Build strong working relationships with all internal stakeholders and interface with customers when necessary.
• Undertake any other special projects as deemed necessary.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, business, finance, economics, statistics, or a related field.
• Experience in cost accounting, building standards, pricing, margin analysis, data analysis, or business analysis.
• Knowledge of pricing theory and practices.
• Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is required.
• Experience with ERP systems and proficient in the use of various software programs.
• Knowledge of EPICs and Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations is an asset.
