About the position

As a Principal Consultant specializing in IT Applications at Infosys Consulting, you will be at the forefront of leading and managing complex projects that focus on the separation and integration of IT applications, including both ERP and non-ERP systems. Your role will involve analyzing, designing, and implementing these applications, which may include Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) solutions or custom-built applications. You will leverage your extensive experience to provide strategic IT direction, drive operational excellence, and collaborate closely with business process owners and application owners to ensure seamless business operations through effective IT application management. In this position, you will work directly with clients and senior leadership to ensure the successful delivery of IT infrastructure solutions. You will be responsible for leading IT application projects that align with the overall business strategy and IT roadmap, developing and presenting strategic roadmaps for IT applications, and ensuring proper program governance and business continuity. Staying updated on emerging technologies and trends in IT applications will be crucial as you lead their adoption within the organization. Your responsibilities will also include managing both front-office and back-office application solutions, overseeing the analysis, design, and implementation of scalable IT application solutions, and leading efforts for Day 1 and Transition Service Agreement (TSA) exit planning. You will create project plans, manage testing cycles, and ensure effective cutover activities for separation and integration projects. Additionally, you will be tasked with leading data migration strategies and managing client and stakeholder engagement to build strong relationships and provide tailored IT solutions. As a leader, you will mentor and develop team members, oversee project planning and budgeting, and implement key performance indicators to track project success. You will also play a vital role in thought leadership and practice development, collaborating with other service lines to create new offerings and insights. Your involvement in sales support will include leading pre-sales activities for M&A, developing execution plans, and identifying new business opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead IT application projects, ensuring alignment with the overall business strategy and IT roadmap.
  • Develop and present strategic roadmaps for IT applications focusing on standardization, efficiency, and cost savings.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to ensure proper program governance and business continuity.
  • Manage front-office and back-office application solutions.
  • Oversee the analysis, design, and implementation of scalable IT application solutions, involving COTS or custom applications.
  • Lead and guide Day 1 and TSA exit planning for a functional area.
  • Manage projects for separation and integration of applications.
  • Create solutions for business requirements including extension of functionality in existing ERP and non-ERP applications.
  • Create project plans and manage them, highlighting risks and issues and creating mitigation plans.
  • Manage testing cycles (SIT and UAT) for each project.
  • Manage cutover activities for separation/integration projects.
  • Create system landscape diagrams and high-level integration strategies.
  • Manage integration activities across systems and guide teams to ensure scalability and flexibility.
  • Lead creation of data migration strategy for master and transaction data elements.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs and providing tailored IT solutions.
  • Present project updates, findings, and recommendations to client executives.
  • Lead project teams, ensuring clear communication, effective collaboration, and timely delivery of milestones.
  • Oversee project planning, budgeting, and resource allocation to ensure goals and timelines are met.
  • Collaborate with other service lines to create new joint offerings and insights.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 7+ years in IT applications (ERP and non-ERP) management, with significant exposure in designing and implementing solutions for business requirements.
  • Proven experience managing complex IT projects.
  • Consulting or client-facing experience preferred.
  • Deep understanding of one or more functional areas (finance, commercial, supply chain and logistics, supply chain planning, manufacturing, engineering, procurement, HR).
  • Excellent strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain client relationships.
  • Ability to travel up to 100%.

Nice-to-haves

  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Solid program/project management skills, including interviewing clients, process mapping, project planning, and stakeholder communication.
  • Strong presentation skills and experience writing successful project proposals.
  • Relevant certifications such as PMP, application specific certifications (SAP/Oracle/SFDC etc.) are desirable but not required.
