About the position
The Principal Backend Development Engineer at CVS Health is a lead technical role responsible for developing and executing the Enterprise Solution Strategy within the High Visibility Enterprise Digital teams. This position focuses on creating a cohesive Technical Roadmap, developing Digital Enterprise Initiatives, and enhancing overall performance by addressing customer challenges through innovative solutions. The role requires collaboration with engineers and business leaders to drive delivery excellence and provide expert support for complex issues.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute Enterprise Solution Strategy for Digital Enterprise Initiatives.
- Compile and research technologies into a cohesive Technical Roadmap.
- Create Proof of Concepts to improve projects addressing customer challenges.
- Drive technical vision and strategy around solutions across Cloud, Backend Solutions, Microservices, and APIs.
- Act as an executive technical leader across strategic efforts, leveraging partners and technical expertise.
- Provide domain knowledge to guide early designs and accelerate project decision-making.
- Promote reusability of APIs and maintain engineering excellence.
- Become a trusted decision-maker for high-risk projects.
- Collaborate and discuss ideas to develop mindshare.
- Execute the path from prototype to production for features.
Requirements
- 10+ years of hands-on IT experience in systems analysis, application design, and development.
- 5+ years of experience in building or leading large-scale applications.
- 3+ years of experience with enterprise cloud initiatives and solutions in GCP/AWS.
- 3+ years of experience managing stakeholder requirements and technical solutions.
- 3+ years of designing and developing modern microservices and APIs.
- 2+ years of experience with Kafka or open-source distributions.
- 5+ years of development experience in Java, Spring Boot, and some knowledge of JavaScript, AngularJS, and NodeJS.
- 5+ years of experience with Agile software development.
- 2+ years of experience with DevOps tools like Kubernetes, Argo, GIT, Jenkins, Maven, JUnit, Docker, JMeter, Antifactory.
- 2+ years of experience working on CI/CD Pipeline automation.
