About the position
Micron Technology is seeking a Principal Design Engineer to join the Competitive Analysis team within the DRAM Engineering Group (DEG). This role is pivotal in evaluating and benchmarking the design strategies of competitor DRAM products, including Compute, Mobile, Graphic, and HBM. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with Design, Product Engineering, and Technology Development teams to provide insights and recommendations that will drive product innovation and strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in DRAM design and the ability to analyze and interpret complex technical data from competitor products. In this position, you will gather and interpret data from various sources, including technical papers, patents, market reports, and physical chip analysis. You will analyze the design and architecture of competitor DRAM products, focusing on aspects such as speed, power, and array efficiency. Conducting circuit reverse engineering and detailed analysis of competitor DRAM will be essential to extract key design strategies and innovations. You will also collaborate with internal engineering teams to understand internal product issues and technology challenges, comparing these with insights gained from competitor analysis to identify strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities. Additionally, you will prepare detailed technical reports and presentations summarizing your competitive analysis findings. Staying ahead of the latest advancements in DRAM design and process will be crucial, as you will develop competitive scenarios and analyze their potential impact on the company's DRAM design strategy. This role requires a self-motivated and enthusiastic individual who is passionate about semiconductor design and innovation.

- Prepare detailed technical reports and presentations that summarize competitive analysis findings.

Requirements
- BS & 8+ years or MS & 5+ years of Professional Experience in DRAM design, semiconductor design or a related technical field.
- Strong knowledge of DRAM architecture, circuit design, layout, and specifications is highly preferred.
- Proven ability to analyze complex technical data and translate it into actionable insights.
- Working knowledge in DRAM process and CMOS.
- Self-motivated and enthusiastic.
