Principal Devops IAC Engineer (Onsite) - RPL

Our team solves tough, meaningful problems that create a safer, more secure world. We are seeking a Principal DevOps (IaC) Engineers to join our team. The qualified candidate will support the development, and maintenance of our modern Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solution in our environment. These environments, a mix of servers, workstations, storage, networks, and custom hardware, provide the enterprise hybrid-cloud backbone for product development and testing for a large Project producing a critical, strategic national asset. This will include a mixture of hands-on keyboard engineering work as well as documentation and baseline control. The Principal DevOps/IaC Engineer will be well versed in the use of tools such as Ansible and Terraform to implement and support the Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solution for our programs.

Responsibilities

• Leverage company and industry best practices and capabilities to assist with deployment, implementation, modernization, and support of IaC solutions.
• Support software tool customization and automation including deployment of templates, dashboards, and scripts to support program needs utilizing Ansible Playbooks.
• Assist with integration of the selected platform provisioning tool such as Terraform.
• Assist with design/architecture/development and support of build/test pipeline and integration, optimizing for performance and scalability across on-premise computing environments.
• Assist engineers with specialized tool usage and issues, leveraging standards and best practices towards the solution.

Requirements

• Typically requires BS/BA Degree in Science, Technology Engineering Math (STEM) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or Physics and 8+ years of related work experience.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) design, development, and deployment.
• Experience with deploying, configuring, maintaining COTS/FOSS products such as LDAP, RHEL, Tenable, Consul, Ansible, Terraform.
• Some travel (up to 10%) may be required to support deployments.
• Ability to obtain a U.S. government TS/SCI security clearance is required after day 1. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

• Experience with Linux System Administration (E.g. RHEL 6.0+).
• Experience with installing and configuring Kubernetes.
• Ability to thrive in a fast paced, high visibility program.
• Experience with Agile Development Methodologies (E.g. scrum, SAFe).
• Container development and orchestration (E.g. Kubernetes/Docker).
• Experience with Ansible automation frameworks.
• Implementing Scaled Agile Frameworks.
• Experience with troubleshooting and debugging deployment and software infrastructure issues.
• Experience with code repository systems (E.g. ClearCase, Bit Bucket).
• Experience deploying, configuring, and supporting CICD Pipelines tools (E.g. Jira / Jira Service Management, Confluence, Bit Bucket, Jenkins).
• Experience with programming languages (E.g. Python, Java, Ruby, Bash, C++, C#, Go).
• Background in COTS/FOSS product installation, configuration, and integration.
• Current CompTIA Security+ or ability to obtain.
