About The Position

Under the general direction of the Division of Multibenefit Initiatives Manager, the Principal Engineer, Water Resources serves as the Manager for the Delta Resiliency Branch. This position is responsible for overseeing and analyzing complex engineering and environmental studies and guiding DMI's Delta programs in coordination with other Division Programs, including but not limited to Systemwide Multibenefit Initiatives and Healthy Rivers and Landscape programs. The incumbent works collaboratively with other managers within the Branch, Division, and Department and coordinates activities with other external partners. The incumbent develops and presents progress reports, fiscal summaries, and planned future activities to DWR's Executive Team, California Department of Fish and Wildlife, Delta Stewardship Council, Central Valley Flood Protection Board, Delta Protection Commission, the Delta Conservancy, and the California Water Commission.

Requirements

  • Valid California Driver's License (CDL).
  • Professional Engineering License.
  • Certificate of registration as a civil engineer issued by the California State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers.
  • Ability to travel across the State with some overnight stays.
