About the position

The Principal Systems Administrator at Raytheon Technologies is responsible for providing IT systems administration in a mixed environment of Microsoft Windows and Redhat Enterprise Linux. This role involves collaborating with teams to support critical programs, ensuring secure and efficient IT infrastructures, and developing solutions for complex technical problems. The position requires a proactive approach to maintaining security requirements and documentation, as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide IT systems administration in a heterogeneous Microsoft Windows and Redhat Enterprise Linux environment.
  • Utilize troubleshooting techniques to resolve technical problems of moderate to high complexity, including hardware and OS integration.
  • Install and configure software applications as requested by end users.
  • Collaborate with Cybersecurity professionals to maintain security requirements and provide documentation and training on advanced IT processes.
  • Develop solutions and documentation for a variety of technical problems.
  • Work in a team environment to support classified programs and computing requirements.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a bachelor's degree and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience, or a master's degree and a minimum of 3 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Must be able to obtain a transferable U.S. government issued secret security clearance prior to start date.
  • Experience with Linux is required.
  • Experience in one of the following: Active Directory, VMware, MySQL, or networking administration.

Nice-to-haves

  • Windows experience is highly desired.
  • An active DoD TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance or prior SCI/program eligibility.
  • Experience with NISPOM, JAFAN, JSIG, DFARS, and/or DoD/RMF.
  • In-depth working experience in Windows Server.
  • Experience with data storage, NAS, and SAN technologies and solutions.
  • Experience using Information Technology project lifecycle management processes.
  • Experience using VMWare vCenter, vSphere, and ESX or other virtual computing methods.
  • High Performance Computing (HPC) experience in a Linux environment.
  • Scripting experience.
