Our team solves tough, meaningful problems that create a safer, more secure world. Manufacturing Engineers develop and improve manufacturing processes by studying products and manufacturing methods. They analyze product specifications to determine appropriate designs and processes that support these customer requirements. You would apply your skills to develop, test, modify, and create solutions through a collaborative effort with various teams.

Responsibilities

  • Manage large scale design, control, and improvements to the manufacturing process
  • Develop Manufacturing Data Packages (MDPs) including assembly instructions, workflow/routing, labor standards, tool, and fixture designs
  • Establish engineering design requirements tailored to manufacturing processes
  • Support manufacturing areas daily with process troubleshooting, incorporation of engineering changes into the MDP
  • Lead non-conforming material analysis with root cause and corrective action analysis as required
  • Lead Continuous Improvement through process improvements to improve cycle time, reduce ergonomic risk to assemblers, automate, reduce costs (both direct and indirect) using Six Sigma principles and data driven decision making
  • Provide real-time technical support to manufacturers and fabricators; in-house as well as the supply base
  • Develop and implement manufacturing process control and performance monitoring
  • Tool/fixture development to drive ergonomics into processes
  • Lead corrective action investigations to prevent recurrence
  • Lead factory wide strategic improvement projects
  • Develop influential relationships with internal customers

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM), preferably in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering, or related field and 8 years of related experience or Master's Degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field and 5 years of related experience
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives Access (ATF) clearance
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
  • Experience with interpretation of technical documentation
  • Experience with a shop floor management system (i.e. SAP, PRISM, EPICOR, or similar ERP or MRP manufacturing software)
  • Experience leading teams or projects
  • Experience with lean manufacturing

  • Organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Knowledge and ability to apply CORE principles and techniques
  • Technical drawing interpretation, Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Experience with technical writing
  • Proficiency with CAD solid modeling tools (preference for CREO/ProE)
  • Demonstrated hands-on mechanical aptitude with the ability to work across disciplines
  • Innovative mindset that drives continuous improvement, lean manufacturing and keeps pace with advances in technology
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Current DoD security clearance (secret)
  • Experience with automated tooling, machinery and programming
  • Experience with Refurbishment and Repair requirements and processing of Government Furnished Material (GFM) or Equipment (GFE)
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office suite (Excel, PPT, Project, Word)
